THOMAS HART BENTON IMPRESSIVE OIL

This is an extraordinarily good painting attributed to the famous American artist, Thomas Hart Benton, and signed by him. It is almost certainly authentic. There are signs of wear in the paint, crackling, but it is in good condition. It has a good frame. There is a Graham Gallery stamp on the frame and a Thomas Hart Benton inventory certificate verso dated 1945 and numbered 7642. The certificate names the painting “American Cotton Pickers.” Significantly, both the painting and the certificate are signed by Benton and the signatures both appear to be authentic. The certificate is also bears a Graham Gallery stamp.
