“Woman and the Beast” by Marc Chagall

One look at this exquisite and finely framed oil attributed to Marc Chagall circa 1938 and one knows it is a Chagall and almost certainly authentic. It has an old and very professional repair suggesting one of its owners considered valuable enough to maintain it in perfect condition. There is a Galerie Kolbert certificate verso and also a Galerie Maeght stamp identifying it as a Chagall. There is also an important Museo de Art Contemporaneo authentication certificate verso signed by Sophia Imber. Its current owner purchased it from a Venezuelan family to help fund their departure from the country.
