Magnificent Cezanne

This exquistily framed oil attributed to Paul Cezanne is one of this grandmaster’s finest and most impressive works. Cezanne was famous for painting various river landscapes and this is a good one. There is a somewhat similar oil in the Hermitage Museum. This one is almost certainly authentic and worthy of a museum or a great collection. There is a Gallerie Bing & Cie certificate attached verso. There is also a certificate from the Direction Des Musees Nationaux identifying it as a Cezanne. It has been in a private collection for several generations and is now being sold to help pay for the extensive repairs necessitated by the recent earthquake in Columbia.
